I saw that my neice Crystal posted some pics of her and a friend from Senneterre, Samantha. They were drinking beers, (what the indians do up there...since, what else is there to do? except drink..) sometimes i get one of the sidekicks or sams husband msg me on facebook cuz they are drinking and want someone to talk too..who knows? senneterre quebec is way up north. when i look at pictures tho, i remember, how the houses feel, how the houses smell. there is a certain feeling/scent in those houses, warm, welcoming, inviting, full of memories. inviting. i can remember the house...we used to go every summer. the first apartment my cocoom (how you say grandmother in cree) oh i found a link...koh-kom
http://apihtawikosisan.com/2011/10/24/cree-kinship-terms/ coom!
anyways, the first apartment, i remember well too. it was a cul de sak of apartments...it was all the way at the end of the town, on the other side of the tracks. it was the very last of those apartments. man, i got to go back up there, with a good camera. i need to take pictures. i just know haunting memories will re-emerge when i go back up there again. this was back in the 80s. you know, as a child, the 80s were a very interesting time. a good time actually, magical. i doubt kids now would ever understand the magic that the 80s has had. (oh i tried looking for that one part in hot tub time machine..where they go inside the lodge. i love that part!) i remember the first place, way on the end of town, where beyond those apartments were the wildnerness, those trees with the white bark, when you can peel the bark off and etch drawings into it. there was a lake, with those planes that land on the water. at night it was super dark. super scary. bears, wolves, coyotes, ghosts...evil beings, all wandered those woods at night. i remember eating. my cousin sabastian was so skinny but he used to down white vinegar like it was juice. we also had sugary sugary kool-aid and drank it where there were lines around the inside of the cup, we also had those retro tins with a flower on the bottom and plates with flowers on the bottom. we would put lots of brown sugar with our outmeal. my mother never fed us this way, but that is how they ate up there. our grandmother, kokom, watched my cousins natalie, (who was a teenager, she had heavy metal posters all over her room, like poison, bon jovi, alice cooper, i thought she was so cool. she had a tattoo of a skull with batwings on her arm and her closet was always so stylish,). we had white toast with margarine. omg sabastians farts were the worse!! ugh..terrible. like rotten eggs. surprised he never got diabetes!! lots of sugary cereals too, like honey combs and fruit loops, once jacky made a sort of office desk using a cereal box, i thought that was so clever. jack was the one you would think would be a lawyer or a wall street type, (what he wanted to do) i think he is accountant or something now)...anyways...later, when we were a bit older, they all moved to the other side of the tracks, a little bit more to the safer feeling, not that darkness of the woods...but there were streetlights which attracted lots of moths. big moths. huge moths. scary moths!! UGHHHH!! and mosquitos! i love canada, but i can never go back to my childhood, my teenage years. it wont be the same now you know? but i would love to go back!!!! i need to visit sabastian and schenley in montreal soon. i wish mike would want to do stuff like that with me. i have never brought a boyfriend up there. i always wanted too. glenn and his friend rich were going to come one year. they would of liked it. i sold my cds to the pawn shop for money to go that summer, we never went! ok so, what am i saying now? so, all the houses look the same so when i saw sams house, or crystals? yeah probably crystal since daisy lives there, INSTANTLY the welcoming scent of the house, the feelings, everything, but...not my grandmother. i love my grandmother. she died a few years ago. she only spoke cree. she never spoke english ,(except for i love you and good night) and she didnt speak french. i used to be kind of afraid of her back then tho, well, sort of like, since i couldnt talk to her, i didnt know what to say, or act like? i want my dad to upload the video where another indian lady, annie, was singing amazing grace, and my grandmother was nodding along. what else? i dont know, but looking at a picture of the house brought all these memories back and it made me want to write about it. the houses in canada are strange too, but if you look at houses in different countries, they are different. they look different and you get a different feel for them. that is what i love. i love to feel true feelings of how people live. i never liked celebrity cribs because i never got true feelings of how they live. i never feel that warmth homey feel from those celebrities. when you glance into their homes, (like the kardashians mansion), sure its nice, but i dont feel those feelings of warmth and family.
since its friday night, maybe i will just get the headphones and try to find videos of how people live. i might post a few. i just like to catch a glimpse into ppls world, ppls worlds. homes! thats why i like to see what people eat...no one posts their food on facebook in fact ppl complain about it. why tho? i like seeing how ppl cook or seeing other ppls food! is that weird??
id rather see inside the home of a trailer park family than a big mansion in LA, tbh..(and no, not honey boo boos family, never watched that show!)
i find trailer homes fascinating. i like christmas lights. i am intrigued by the swamps of louisianna. id love to see a swamphome or historical plantation home in new orleans. oh, bob wadin died. who is bob wadin? my dads friends, whom i only know through his letters to my dad. (i never read them, ive read a few) he has also published a bunch of stories too. he always sent letters to my dad. 'big fish' style tales. (we just watched that movie..oh yeah, mike and i watched a few movies last wknd, snow white and the huntsman, and defiance, good movies! last night we watched willy wonka, only half since he fell asleep well we watched lincoln in the theaters...watched the other half today. before he dropped me home. hes working tomorrow so...
but anyways, bob wadin lived in a plantation home eventually, (after many many adventures on his quest through life), he had lots of money due to an inheritance, and had vagrants (is that a word?) i guess he had people living with him. he died recently. i told my dad that he will get another letter from him, soon. in it, it will be instructions, from beyond the grave!!! ha! idk or one of the golddiggers he had living with him (idk thats what my dad said he wrote) who killed him off!
aww! i dont know why this made me feel like crying, (because my dad knew him since forever) you know? it just...makes me think of my parents...

thats his obituary. i was looking for his books online but i guess he never learned how to use computers, seeing that he hand written letters to my dad every few months.
life is precious you know? i mean, everyone has a story.
