hand on cheek gesture robin williams

so....billy crystal was honoring robin williams in a tribute at the emmy awards last night. the night before, i noticed another aging funnyman, jim carrey, and dumb and dumber costar playing around with scarves. i am surprised they didnt outright do a hanging/choking game with the scarf, because that is what one thinks of when scarves are involved. here are the tributes, that billy crystal did. take note of the scarf mork and mindy scene they show...(robin williams hung inside supposedly), at 3:30 seconds...below video

take note of the pic of robin williams holding his hand up to his eye. this gesture means something, gesture on the cheek. strangely, there is a photo of billy crystal doing the exact same thing. here is what this gesture means (hand on cheek)
